From a closer look to a considered place in your home, each conversation starts with the work and what you need to know about it.
See the work more closely
Request front, reverse, frame or surface photographs, or ask about a video viewing. Please include the object number and the details you want to examine so we can respond to the right questions.
Understand its condition
Ask for the available condition record, including noted wear, repairs and mounting details. If a concern requires conservation expertise, it should be addressed by a suitable specialist before a decision is made.
Plan the display
Share wall dimensions, a room photograph and the intended viewing distance. These help us discuss proportions and framing. Wall fixings, weight capacity and environmental conditions still need an on-site check.
Commission a new work
A commission begins with subject, scale, setting and budget. The proposed maker, materials, review stages, schedule and payment terms must be agreed in writing before production begins.
Prepare for delivery
A delivery proposal considers the work, frame, packing, route and destination. Costs and responsibilities for insurance, customs and receipt are set out before payment; availability is checked for each destination.
Care after arrival
Keep the object record and packing photographs with your purchase documents. If you notice a change or damage, contact the gallery with clear photographs before attempting cleaning, repair or repacking.
